I love reading blogs. It’s one of my favourite ways to unwind after a hectic work day, and I love the interaction and community. I’m constantly discovering new blogs and I want to share a few which I just can’t get enough of. These blogs range from money to fashion & beauty to food. All things I am very passionate about
Money
Even though I am sort of a PF blogger, I agree with Mochimac’s views on PF blogs. The ones I prefer to read are the people who write with personality. I’m not a big fan of blogs with articles which show me yet another 15 ways to save money on Valentine’s Day or [insert another statutory holiday]. You can see a list of my fave PF blogs in my blogroll to the right.
Fashion
There are so many talented fashion bloggers (and photographers!) out there, that has inspired me to take a few photographs of my own outfits, and have fun while documenting my own wardrobe. Maybe, one day!
Capital Hill Style, written by stylish Belle. Belle is one stylish lady working in Capital Hill, and she has strong opinions which she is not afraid to share. Her post about a blouse which segued into why you shouldn’t wear pajamas on a flight convinced me I needed to be a loyal subscriber. I enjoy her daily 10th Commandment picks and how she has 3 budget prices. I love the amount of detail which goes into each of her daily Two Ways posts, for why she picks each clothing item, accessory and even how to style your hair and makeup. A lot of fashion blogs post up clothes, but Belle’s is the only one who goes into the detail for each of her picks so that her readers can adjust to their own personal style and budget. A must-read!
Putting Me Together, written by the lovely Audrey. I love Audrey’s down to earth approach to clothing and style. She shares her daily outfits and also has really helpful tutorials for style newbs like me, such as how to roll up sleeves. She also has a wonderful Style Tips including her series Wardrobe from Scratch.
Beauty
There are so many talented beauty bloggers out there (which contributes to every ballooning make-up collection).
I found Cassandra Banks while researching how I could cover my acne, and I was so glad that I found her. She is a super upbeat person, and very honest about her struggle with acne, and just a really strong and beautiful person. She is also an ambassador who speaks out against bullying, and really think you need to check her out!
I also found Wayne Goss, while researching how to cover my acne. GossMakeup is YouTube make-up channel whom I find very informative, and he provides very good tutorials. He talks about struggles with acne, flawless skin without foundation, and also does product reviews. His latest video was about cyber bullying.
Food
Since I have embraced a new way of eating, and am focused on fueling my body with better foods, I’ve also found some yummy food blogs that also meet my needs.
I stumbled upon the lovely Meghan Telpner when I was discussing my experience with the Elimination Diet with my sister’s friend. Meghan talks about how she was able be rid of the symptoms of her Chron’s disease, by changing her lifestyle. Meghan’s blog is all about making healthy choices from how to prevent breast cancer today, to using edible beauty products, to making quick and awesome gluten-free bread.
Green Kitchen Stories has healthy and delicious vegetarian recipes, and oh my, their food photography is to die for. I feel a little sad that I can’t just reach into my computer screen and grab a bite! Since I’ve been eating healthier breakfasts, recipes like this buckwheat porridge and this millet pumpkin salad remind me that delicious foods can be healthy.
Readers, have you discovered new blogs you’d like to share? Are you a follower of any the above blogs/channels?
Sincerely,
